Saturday, March 28th, Citys
CRAZY packed all night despite the snow storm, thanks to all of you that came!  The night started with Pocket Rock, (Rick & Joe and rest of the band, you guys are awesome).
All of F5 were here for this show, with everybody taking a break from their other bands and Tom Gaskins coming from Florida.  We had an incredible time...we'll be back for the state fair at the Miller Tent for a pair of shows, including a reunion show.

Special thanks:  Kyle, Deb and the rest of the Citys staff for making this happen, Doug for the great job behind the board, Tommy Dirkin for the intros, photographer David Hobby, security guys Chuck and Rich, Stan Komperda for the rehearsal space, the people that we saw that bought F5 gear off the site and had it on (thanks), and everybody else that helped with this event.  Cya again in August.  THE PICS

Saturday, August 15, IL State Fair Miller Tent
Hi everybody, this is Tom Gaskins.  Our final show show was an an amazing time.
Jeff Wheaton, Drew Aschenbrenner, Kenny Duffy, Janet Morris, Bob Bryant and myself thank every one of you that came out to see us for this special show.  We would like to thank Tommy D for the intro work, David Hobby for his photo work for this show and for all the shows he shot in the past, plus TJ Cunningham and Megan Kunz for coming back and dancing again, and Ric Majors and E & F for having us back.

The band was formed in the spring of 1996 by Stan Komperda, the original drummer of F5.  The name F5 was Stan's idea when a tornado hit Springfield on a night we were supposed to rehearse.  The first show was at Bootleggers, Dec 13 1996.  The band then featured
Robin Bosie, Tony Dyer, Mark Packenham, Stan Komperda and myself.  From 1996 to 2009, the band employed a total of 16 full time members and 3 part time members.  All of the members played an important part ( former F5 members).

For our final performance we brought back the original band for a set, along with Kenny Duffy (of whom joined in 1997). We had an awesome time, and not often can you revisit the past.  I'd personally like to thank F5 Classic and the rest of the F5 members for keeping the band going for over 13 years. We have received 14 awards from three different publications.  We would like to thank all of you for voting for us, and for coming to see us.
